## Daily Survival Goals:
To survive on the island, players must have 8 fish and 4 pieces of lumber at the end of each day.
Students must choose how many hours they will spend doing different activities at the beginning of the day. They have 16 total hours to work with. They may engage in trade at the end of that if they have met other players who are willing to trade.
### Time can be spent on:
- Fishing
- Gathering Wood
- Exploring to find other players (1 leisure hour unlocks 3 new players)
- Improving their fishing skills/equipment (8 leisure hours improves the next days fishing production by 1 per hour)
- Improving their gathering wood skills/equipment (8 leisure hours improves the next days wood production by 1 per hour)
- Build a fish preserver (requires 8 leisure hours and 25 stockpiled wood)
- Building a boat (requires a total of 16 hours and 100 stockpiled wood)
### Starting Production Possibilities:
- 1 fish per hour and 2 wood per hour or 2 fish per hour and 1 wood per hour
### Turn Order:
- Set hours of production - Produces fish and lumber.
- Trading Phase - You can only trade with “known” players
- Survival and Stockpiling - Remove required amount for survival, remaining lumber is stockpiled, the fish goes bad until you build a fish preserver
### Winning Conditions:
- You must have a boat, and 24 fish stockpiled at the beginning of a round to set sail and escape the island!
### End Discussion Questions:
- How did scarcity come into play during this simulation?
- How did you determine if and under what terms to trade?
- How did your starting production levels determine your success in the game?
